Pillowcases replacement

This morning I was changing the sheet set in the bedroom and went downstairs to hand my husband a clean pair of pillowcases. I asked him to change the pair on the couch while I went back to finish the bed. Later, I came down with a laundry basket full of dirty clothes and saw the pillowcases I gave him still sitting on the coffee table. I didn’t mind — I planned to change them after starting the washer anyway.

Eventually, I walked back into the living room and found my husband standing there smiling. The clean pillowcases were on the pillows… but he hadn’t removed the old ones. I laughed and started taking off both the new and the old pairs that needed washing.

I always adore my husband for the tiny things I ask him to do, even when they never turn out the way I want. It never bothers me — I handle the house, he handles making the money, and I handle spending it.

How do you and your partner share your roles?
